Using a tripod on a jeep safari might not be a practical option as even if you are the only one in the vehicle, it would be very difficult to make space for a large tripod to support your setup.However, you may carry it if you intend to make long-exposure images after dark (on the lodge premises). While on a safari, we would suggest using a Beanbag as they can be mounted either on the side of the vehicle or on its door, to give you a place to rest your shoulders. During a Sundarbans tour, you will likely spend a significant part of the day on the boat, exploring the waterways and searching for wildlife. However, the boat is well equipped with basic toilet facilities.

On a photography tour in Sundarbans, there will be about 7 participants along with a Toehold skipper. This group size ensures a comfortable experience on the boat and helps provide ample of opportunities for wildlife photography.

Sundarbans is open through out the year for safaris and we have had gorgeous sightings the year. During the winter months from October to February, the weather is cooler and more comfortable for exploring the mangrove forests and spotting wildlife. While both summer and monsoon seasons provide multiple opportunities to explore the wildlife, the humidity may be higher than the cooler months. The nearest major airport to the Sundarbans is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) in Kolkata, well-connected to major cities. From Kolkata, we travel by road to Godkhali (100 km away), and then board onto a boat to explore Sundarbans.
