Absolutely! This Tour is meant for fledgling as well as experienced photographers. Beginners get all the advantages of learning on and off the field from Toehold’s eminent Skippers. In fact if you are a newbie, you should jump on this terrific learning opportunity and sign up right away! However, in order to make the most of the Tour photographically, we recommend that you be familiar with photography fundamentals. If you’re not, we suggest you join an Art and Science of Photography Workshop before the Tour.

We do not book air transfers, however, we can suggest the best possible flights you can take to reach your destination. You may certainly take your young child, but we don’t recommend taking infants and very small children on safari. Please talk to us for more information.

On a photography tour, there will be about seven participants along with one Toehold skipper. This group size ensures a comfortable experience and better opportunities for wildlife photography.

For our photo tours, we usually visit Munnar during the monsoon from June to September, when the weather is cool, rainy and pleasant, ideal for exploring the hill station's scenic beauty & wilderness around. One may also plan a visit to Munnar during the winters.

The best way to reach Munnar is by flying to Cochin International Airport (COK) or Madurai Airport (IXM), then taking a taxi or bus to Munnar which is approximately 110-130 km away. Please talk to us for any assitance regarding road transfers to reach your destination.

Considering the meticulous attention to timing we pay while scheduling Tours and the local expertise we leverage, we believe that it would be extremely unfortunate if our sightings and photography were unsatisfactory. Munnar is blessed with a wonderful biodiversity, and is teeming with wildlife, but since we will be in an uncontrolled environment, we do not claim that sightings of specific species are guaranteed.

In Munnar, mobile network coverage and WiFi in hotels is generally available, but it can be spotty or weak in some areas due to the region's forested areas and rural setting.
