Using a tripod on a jeep safari might not be a practical option as even if you are the only one in the vehicle, it would be very difficult to make space for a large tripod to support your setup.However, you may carry it if you intend to make long-exposure images after dark (on the lodge premises). While on a safari, we would suggest using a Beanbag as they can be mounted either on the side of the vehicle or on its door, to give you a place to rest your shoulders. In Bandipur, there are two different safaris that are offered, jeep & canter. On most of the photo tours we usually go on a jeep safari, however we can customise your tour based on the safari type that interests you.

In Bandipur, on a jeep safari, upto 8 people can be seated in the vehicle. However, on our photo tour we usually have 6 participants seated in one jeep along with a toehold skipper.

Bandipur is open throughout the year, and we have had gorgeous sightings in every month of the year. Winters are extremely pleasant in Bandipur, though there is a nip in the morning winds. During the harsh summers, a lot of wildlife can be seen cooling themselves along the banks of the many waterholes in Bandipur. After the scorching summer, the heat melts away in the months of June and July to give way to the dense carpet of the monsoon that seems to embrace the forest.
